Found during the 1987 Harmonic Conversion in Peru, it is said to have been given it’s name from the Greek anhydrasmeaning ‘without water’. This name is in reference to the fact that Angelite is truly Gypsum that has completely lost all hydration; hence “without water”
As it is quite a soft mineral, it musn’t be immersed in water at any time. If it is, it may show traces of the white calcium mineral as it is rehydrated.

Blue Anhydrite is a relatively common sedimentary mineral that forms massive rock layers. Although it is not formed directly but as the result of the mineral gypsum losing all hydration. This hydration loss causes a reduction in physical volume of the rock layer, in large deposits as the rock shrinks, this can sometimes form natural caverns of amazing size.
Anhydrite is found in Mexico; Peru; Germany and New Mexico, but it was adopted by the New Age sect as Angelite.
